Lumis Privacy Policy

Lumis by Brief Candle LLC is an interactive cinema prototype featuring Holy Sh*t I’m Dead. This policy explains how the current version handles information when you use the app.

Camera access and facial processing

Lumis requests camera permission when you enable the interactive experience. It processes camera images on your device to detect facial landmarks and estimate visible facial reactions. These signals can influence which story path plays.

Camera footage is not recorded, stored, or uploaded by Lumis. Facial landmarks and reaction signals are processed locally and are not sent to Brief Candle or linked to an online profile. Lumis does not use this processing to identify you.

You can stop camera access using the app’s camera control or revoke permission in your device settings. Interactive features that depend on the camera will not work without permission.

Accounts and profiles

The current prototype does not offer account creation or online user profiles. It does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other signup information.

Local storage

Lumis may save app configuration and playback-related settings locally on your device. This local storage is used to support the app’s operation.

Internet connections and service providers

Lumis connects to online services to retrieve app configuration and, where needed, media or other resources.

These connections expose technical information, such as your IP address and request details, to the services handling them. Hosting and delivery providers may process or retain request logs under their own policies. These requests do not include camera footage, facial landmarks, or reaction signals.

Contacting us

If you contact Brief Candle for support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message. We use that information to respond and resolve your request. Please do not send camera footage or sensitive personal information unless necessary for your request.

Your choices

You can:

Decline or revoke camera permission.
Stop using the camera-based interactive features.
Remove the app and its locally stored data through your device’s settings.
Contact us with questions or requests concerning information you have provided directly to us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Lumis develops. If we introduce accounts, online profiles, or new data practices, we will update this policy and applicable privacy disclosures before those changes take effect, and request consent where required.
